SandFighter Cabernet Sauvignon

SandFighter wines are lovingly grown and crafted by Elliott and Kendra Lane of Levelland TX. This Proud yet simple TX couple with a passion for complex wines planted their first vines in 2009. It was a small planting of 200 Cabernet Sauvignon vines that started their quest in the perils, trials, and pleasant surprises of TX High Plains viticulture.

Today they have close to 10,000 vines, made up of 8 different vitis vinifera varieties in the ground across varying terroir of Hockley and Terry Counties ranging in age from 2 to 9 yrs old. The Lanes believe that everything about a great wine starts with the soils on which they are planted, and through selection and management techniques of the different varietals they grow accompanied with a minimalist wine making approach, a truly unique, and enjoyable result can be achieved.

A result they hope someday will help to show the possibilities and quality of TX High Plains Fruit from small producers with hyperintensive focus and a hands on approach from cuttings to bottles…
